The Cracker Barrel and Rodeway hotel was placed on lockdown following a report of a shooting involving law enforcement agencies on Monday.
According to the Jackson Township Police Department, a segment of Interstate 77 has reopened after being closed due to a law enforcement operation. According to Chief Mark Brink, the US Marshals Service initiated a law enforcement action at approximately 11 a.m. on the 6800 block of Sunset Strip N.W. in Jackson Township.
According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, a segment of Interstate 77 in Stark County has been closed due to police activity. According to an employee at the Roadway Inn, situated at 6880 Sunset Strip Ave., 19 News believes police arrived at the motel to arrest one person.
As of 1:15 p.m., the employee confirmed that police had surrounded the motel. A Cracker Barrel at 6940 Sunset Strip Ave. stated that the restaurant was on lockdown earlier but has since re-opened. Due to a police incident, all lanes of I-77 South at Shuffel Street are closed. Due to a police incident, all lanes of I-77 North beyond Portage Street are restricted.
