Cumberland, MD – On Tuesday, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Brian Simmons Jr. The warrant was issued because Simmons failed to appear in court. His original charge was CDS: Possess Paraphernalia. After his arrest, Simmons appeared before a District Court Commissioner and was released on personal recognizance.
On the same day, at approximately 2:04 PM, police responded to a disturbance on Baker Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that an assault had occurred between involved parties. The alleged victim accused Malik Wimberley of assault.
Following an investigation, Wimberley was arrested and taken to Central Booking. He was later presented before a District Court Commissioner and released on a $5,000 unsecured personal bond. Wimberley faces charges of Assault-2nd Degree.
