Mechanicsburg — Attorney General Michelle Henry has filed a lawsuit against a chiropractor in Mechanicsburg, alleging he misled patients about their insurance coverage, leading many to make out-of-pocket payments. The lawsuit names Jason Michael Fullmer, owner of Central PA Spinal Health Chiropractic, LLC, as the defendant.
According to the suit, Fullmer falsely informed patients that their chiropractic care would be covered by insurance, but often failed to submit claims to insurers. As a result, patients were left with large bills and, in some cases, faced threats of debt collection if they did not pay.
“This chiropractor did a disservice to patients seeking care by either intentionally misleading them about insurance coverage or neglecting to send their claims to their insurance providers,” Henry said in a statement.
The Office of Attorney General launched an investigation after receiving several consumer complaints. According to the complaint, Fullmer not only failed to file claims but also refused to provide necessary documentation required by insurers to cover the services.
The lawsuit further claims that Fullmer directed patients to take their grievances to the Attorney General’s Office, suggesting the insurance companies were at fault. However, the Attorney General’s investigation concluded that Fullmer’s actions were in violation of Pennsylvania’s consumer protection laws.
