Pittsgrove Township, NJ – The New Jersey State Police are seeking help from the community following a fatal hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian in Pittsgrove Township, Salem County. The collision occurred early on the morning of Saturday, September 18, on US Highway 40 eastbound near milepost 20.5.
Investigations by detectives revealed that around 2:56 a.m., a white sedan struck a pedestrian, identified as Allen Miller Jr., a 45-year-old resident of Vineland, NJ. The driver fled the scene. Unfortunately, Miller succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
Through investigative efforts on October 2, authorities identified and arrested Christopher Poore, aged 23, at his home in Bridgeton, NJ. He faces charges of Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death and Tampering with Evidence. Poore was subsequently released pending a future court date.
