Cumberland, MD – Cumberland Police Department officers responded to an assault report on Saturday. The incident took place near George Washington Headquarters Park.
The woman claiming to be a victim told officers that Keiana Langan attacked her. She alleged that Langan struck her repeatedly, causing the victim to attempt an escape. As she fled, Langan allegedly caught up and strangled her. A witness intervened during the attack, and officers noted strangulation marks on the victim’s neck.
Authorities located Langan close to the scene of the reported assault. She was taken into custody and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center. Langan also had an outstanding Circuit Court warrant, which was served during her arrest.
Langan, 30, of Cumberland, faces charges of first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and disorderly conduct. She also has a Circuit Court warrant related to child support.
