GREENSPRING, Md. — Maryland State Police arrested a man in connection with an alleged armed road rage incident that occurred Thursday afternoon on Interstate 695 in Baltimore County.
The suspect, identified as 41-year-old David Belt Jr. of White Hall, Maryland, faces charges of first and second-degree assault, along with multiple firearm offenses. His arrest followed consultation with the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office, according to a police news release.
Troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack received a report around 2:30 p.m. Thursday of a road rage incident near Greenspring Avenue. The victim, who has not been publicly identified, alleged that Belt pointed a firearm at her while they were both driving on I-695. No injuries were reported.
Investigators from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division located Belt’s vehicle later that evening. He was arrested and transported to the Baltimore County Detention Center, where two loaded handguns were also found. The investigation is ongoing.
