BRONX, N.Y. — Two men were shot early Saturday morning during an attempted robbery in the Bronx, police said. The incident occurred at approximately 4:00 a.m. on September 7 in front of 1880 University Avenue.
According to authorities, a 25-year-old male and a 30-year-old male were approached by two unidentified individuals who attempted to steal their property. When the robbery attempt failed, the suspects displayed a firearm and discharged it, striking both victims in the buttocks. The assailants then fled the scene on a black moped, heading northbound on University Avenue.
Emergency medical services responded and transported the victims to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.
The first suspect is described as a male with a slim build and medium complexion, last seen wearing all black. The second suspect is described as a male with a medium build and medium complexion, last seen wearing a black hat, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and white sneakers.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects.
