Lancaster, PA – October marks Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office is committed to addressing this crime. On Monday, Domestic Violence Services hosted a kickoff event to honor victims of domestic violence homicide, celebrate survivors, and recognize advocates working towards a violence-free community.
Domestic Violence Services, a program under Community Action Partnership, has planned various events throughout the month to increase awareness, offer resources for survivors, and facilitate discussions on the issue. These events aim to engage the community and provide support to those affected by domestic violence.
One significant event is the Silent Witness Exhibit, a traveling memorial that honors and remembers victims of domestic violence. This exhibit consists of life-sized figures, each telling the story of a different victim. The exhibit will be displayed at the following locations on specific dates throughout the month:
– October 1-7: Government Center, 150 N. Queen Street, Lancaster, PA
– October 7-11: Penn Medicine Suburban Outpatient Pavilion, 2100 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA
– October 14-18: Elizabethtown College, Bowers Center for Sports, Fitness & Well-Being,
