ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Annapolis police responded to multiple reports of theft and burglary on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, including a package theft, a break-in at a vacant apartment, and the theft of delivered packages from a residential doorstep.
In the first incident, a resident in the 1000 block of Primrose Road reported a theft captured on her security camera. According to the report, two Hispanic boys were seen walking up to the front steps of her residence and stealing a FedEx package before running away. The package contained cosmetic care items, with a total loss value of $77.55, police said.
In a separate case on President Street, Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis (HACA) employees contacted police about possible unauthorized entry into a vacant apartment. Officers arrived to find Derrick Dwight Stansbury Jr., 34, inside the residence. Stansbury was arrested and charged with third- and fourth-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property, and trespassing. Authorities also served him with outstanding warrants from both the Annapolis Police Department and Anne Arundel County.
Additionally, a resident on Silverwood Circle reported the theft of packages from his front door. After receiving an alert about the delivery, the resident went to retrieve the packages but found them missing within seven minutes. The stolen items included two Ikea storage bins and a personalized trophy, with a total value of $128.
