NEWARK, N.J. — New Jersey commuters faced several traffic disruptions across key highways and tunnels this morning, with crashes and congestion affecting travel times, according to the latest reports.
On I-80 westbound, a crash occurred on the ramp to Exit 58 (Madison Avenue) in Paterson at approximately 8:11 a.m. The right lane is currently closed as authorities respond to the incident, causing delays for drivers in the area.
A separate crash on the Garden State Parkway southbound, just south of Exit 143C (NJ 124) in Irvington Township, was reported earlier in the morning at around 6:58 a.m. The left lane remains blocked, adding to the delays along this busy route.
Heavy congestion is also affecting the New Jersey Turnpike, particularly at Interchange 9 (NJ 18) in East Brunswick Township, where delays have built up due to ongoing traffic on NJ 18. Drivers should anticipate slower travel times in the area.
At the Holland Tunnel, commuters heading eastbound toward New York are facing 30-minute delays. This is affecting traffic from both NJ Turnpike Exit 14C and NJ 139 at Tonnelle Circle, as reported at 8:19 a.m.
In Pennsauken Township, US 30 westbound is experiencing delays near CR 628/North Park Drive. Although all lanes remain open, the volume of vehicles is contributing to slowdowns.
On NJ 4 eastbound, traffic is moving slowly from Hackensack Avenue in Hackensack to Queen Anne Road in Teaneck Township. Drivers can expect travel times of 5 to 10 minutes through the area.
There are also delays on NJ 73 northbound, with pockets of heavy volume from CR 544/Evesham Road/Marlton Parkway in Evesham Township to I-295 in Mount Laurel Township.
Finally, I-295 northbound is seeing congestion from Exit 25 (NJ 47/Delsea Drive) in Westville to just north of Exit 32 (CR 561/Haddonfield Berlin Road) in Cherry Hill Township, with delays reported due to high traffic volumes.
Authorities are urging commuters to plan for extra travel time and exercise caution as conditions remain fluid throughout the morning.
