Goshen, NY – Jesse Boniface of Middletown has been convicted of rape in the first degree and related charges. On Tuesday, a jury found Boniface guilty in the Orange County Court. He faces a potential sentence of 25 years in prison when sentencing takes place on December 16. Following the verdict, Boniface was remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail.
The court heard that Boniface forcibly engaged in sexual acts with another individual on November 17, 2023, in the Town of Crawford. The incident was reported to local police, leading to Boniface’s arrest after a thorough investigation. District Attorney David M. Hoovler expressed gratitude to the Town of Crawford Police Department and the New York State Police for their roles in the investigation.
Hoovler emphasized the seriousness of the proved allegations, describing them as despicable. He stated his intent to seek the maximum sentence allowable due to the gravity of the defendant’s actions. Hoovler commended the victim’s courage, acknowledging the ongoing impact of the crime.
