EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. — The East Brunswick Police Department has successfully completed its Fall 2024 Police and Teens Together (PATT) program at East Brunswick High School. The program concluded on Thursday, September 26, under the leadership of Detective Wright, the department’s School Resource Officer, and Patrolman Korten from the Community Policing Unit.
The PATT program, which aims to build trust and improve rapport between law enforcement and local youth, provided criminal justice students with insight into various areas of police work. Students learned about law enforcement practices and had the opportunity to engage directly with officers by asking questions and voicing concerns.
The initiative also gave participants a chance to explore potential careers in law enforcement. Police officials noted that the dialogue helped foster a greater understanding between students and officers.
The East Brunswick Police Department expressed its appreciation for the involvement of East Brunswick High School students and staff in supporting the program.
Efforts to strengthen ties with the community through the PATT program will continue as part of the department’s broader community outreach initiatives.
