QUEENS, N.Y. — An off-duty New York City Police Department civilian employee was arrested on Saturday night and charged with assault within the 103rd Precinct in Queens, authorities said.
The employee, identified as 32-year-old Niasia Robinson, was taken into custody at approximately 9:43 p.m., according to police reports. Robinson, a civilian worker for the NYPD, is facing charges of third-degree assault.
Details surrounding the circumstances of the incident that led to Robinson’s arrest were not immediately available. The 103rd Precinct serves the Jamaica area of Queens.
As of Sunday, no further information had been released regarding Robinson’s employment status with the department or whether she remained in custody.
