Utica, NY – On August 28, a victim reported an assault incident to the Utica Police Department. The victim recounted being struck in the back with a crowbar during an altercation with an unknown male, resulting in pain.
Upon seeking medical attention, it was determined that the assault had caused fractures in the victim’s back. The case was subsequently assigned to an investigator from the Criminal Investigations Division. Following the investigation, the suspect’s identity was established.
Miguel Gomez, a 58-year-old resident of Utica, was charged on Thursday with Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree. The charges were laid after sufficient evidence and identification were compiled against him.
