Queens, NY – Lance White-Hunt has pleaded guilty to identity theft, offering a false instrument for filing, and tampering with physical evidence after unlawfully occupying a home in Jamaica and forging leasing documents. As part of this plea, he is required to pay restitution to cover the victim’s attorney fees for a civil suit he initiated against the rightful owner and the broker.
Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz emphasized that the primary goal is to remove trespassers from homes. She noted that White-Hunt’s actions were particularly severe as he falsely claimed to be a legal tenant and took the homeowner to court. The resolution includes accountability for White-Hunt and restitution for the victim’s legal and home repair costs.
White-Hunt, 24, from Brooklyn, pleaded guilty on Thursday to multiple charges. Supreme Court Justice Toni Cimino ordered him to return to court on November 6 for sentencing, which is expected to include five years’ probation, 20 days of community service, and $3,900 in restitution.
