STAFFORD, Va. — The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reported several incidents in its daily log for Thursday, September 26, 2024, including an assault, a DUI-related accident, and two cases of larceny.
Deputies responded to a report of an assault on Terrace Drive at 6:12 a.m. The altercation followed a minor fender bender, where instead of exchanging insurance information, the suspect physically attacked the other driver. No injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.
At 8:07 a.m., deputies were called to the 3600 block of Richmond Highway for an auto accident involving a Toyota Camry and a work truck. The driver of the Camry showed signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming between 12 and 15 shots of liquor. He was charged with driving under the influence and taken to a local hospital for minor injuries before being transported to Rappahannock Regional Jail.
In a separate incident, a $200 rooster statue was reported stolen from the 2000 block of Garrisonville Road at 5:22 p.m. Deputies responded to the scene, but the stolen item and the suspect remain missing.
Later, at 6:44 p.m., deputies were called to a Kohl’s store on Stafford Market Place, where a known shoplifter had returned. The individual left the store with over $220 worth of merchandise, continuing to evade law enforcement.
All cases are ongoing, and no arrests have been reported in connection with the larcenies.
