GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at Southgate Old Mill Park in Glen Burnie on Thursday evening. Officers responded to the park, located at 8224 Oakwood Road, around 6:45 p.m. after receiving a report of an armed robbery near the basketball courts.
The victim, a male, reported that two suspects approached him, with one pointing a firearm and demanding he empty his pockets. The second suspect stood behind the first, also brandishing a firearm. The suspects fled the scene after the robbery, and the victim was not harmed.
Officers quickly canvassed the area and located one of the suspects at the intersection of Aquahart Road and Greenway Southeast. The suspect was positively identified and taken into custody. A BB gun, believed to be the weapon used in the robbery, was recovered during the arrest.
The second suspect remains at large. He is described as a white male, between 14 and 17 years old, wearing a black ski mask and black clothing.
