BALTIMORE, MD – The upcoming Powerball jackpot on Saturday is estimated at $243 million, with an estimated annuity option, according to lottery officials.
On Wednesday, a Powerball player in Frederick won $500,000 with a Double Play second-tier ticket. The winning ticket was bought at Wawa, located at 5440 Urbana Pike in Frederick County. The designated Double Play numbers drawn were 06, 32, 51, 62, and 69, with the Powerball being 26.
This latest win marks the sixth second- or third-tier Double Play ticket sold in Maryland this year. On Wednesday, Maryland recorded 1,359 Double Play winners of varying prize amounts from $7 to $500,000.
Double Play is a supplementary drawing held 30 minutes after the main Powerball draw, offering players a chance to win up to $10 million using the same numbers. The feature can be added to Powerball tickets for an additional $1.
