BALTIMORE, MD — A series of carjacking and auto theft incidents on September 23 and 24 have resulted in multiple juvenile arrests. The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) continues to investigate these crimes.
On September 23, officers responded to an unarmed carjacking at 10:15 a.m. in the 6200 block of Winner Avenue, where a Lexus RX was stolen. Later that day, at 10:48 a.m., another unarmed carjacking attempt occurred in the 4800 block of Nurton Avenue involving the previously stolen Lexus. At approximately 12:10 p.m., a Toyota Corolla was reported stolen in the 3400 block of Cedardale Road. Witnesses reported seeing individuals exit the stolen Lexus before fleeing in both vehicles.
Citywide Robbery Detectives obtained CCTV footage from the Winner Avenue incident, identifying a 14-year-old male suspect. The Regional Auto Theft Task Force (RATT) was deployed for further investigation.
On September 24 at 8:09 a.m., another unarmed carjacking was reported in the 1800 block of Kelly Avenue, involving a Silver Honda Accord. The suspects used the stolen Lexus RX to strike the Honda in a “bump-and-run” maneuver. Shortly after, the Lexus crashed in the 2600 block of Park Heights Terrace, and the suspects fled the scene in the Silver Honda.
RATT detectives canvassed the area and found both the stolen Toyota Corolla and Silver Honda parked and unoccupied. Detectives, with assistance from the Baltimore County Aviation Unit, located and apprehended the 14-year-old male suspect and a 15-year-old female accomplice in the Toyota Corolla in the 3200 block of Buleith Avenue. A 16-year-old male suspect was also arrested after the Silver Honda was stopped in the 4800 block of Reisterstown Road.
CCTV footage linked the 16-year-old to the Kelly Avenue carjacking. He was transported to the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) and later released to a guardian. The 16-year-old had been previously arrested for motor vehicle theft in June.
The 14-year-old male suspect was on court-mandated GPS monitoring due to four prior arrests in 2024, including armed robbery and assault. He is facing charges related to all four robberies and is currently detained at DJS.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Citywide Robbery Detectives at 410-366-6341 or submit an anonymous tip to Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
