Camden, N.J. – A Sussex County man was sentenced to 146 months in prison for his role in distributing methamphetamine, as part of a drug trafficking organization, U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger announced.
Steven R. Kristiansen, 54, from Byram Township, New Jersey, pled guilty to five charges, including conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, distribution and possession of methamphetamine, and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. U.S. Circuit Judge Stephanos Bibas handed down the sentence on Friday in Camden federal court.
The charges stem from an investigation starting in January 2022, when law enforcement identified Kristiansen as a member of a drug trafficking ring. Between Jan. 14 and Jan. 18, 2022, Kristiansen sold over 60 grams of methamphetamine to an undercover officer. Authorities executed search warrants on Jan. 25, 2022, at his home and vehicle, recovering over 50 grams of methamphetamine and ammunition.
In addition to the prison sentence, Kristiansen will be subject to five years of supervised release. U.S. Attorney Sellinger commended the Homeland Security Investigations Newark, led by Acting Special Agent in Charge Spiros Karabinas, for their efforts in the investigation.
