PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 25 — Authorities are investigating a series of violent incidents across the city’s 15th, 16th, and 25th Districts, including two stabbings and a fatal shooting.
In the 15th District, a home invasion occurred at 5:41 a.m. on Englewood Street. Seven males entered a rear apartment at 34XX Englewood, where a 42-year-old man sustained a facial laceration. The victim, an Asian male, was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital by Medic 17 and is in stable condition. No arrests have been made, and police have not recovered any weapons. It is unclear if anything was stolen from the property. Northwest Detectives are leading the investigation.
Hours later, in the 16th District, police responded to a stabbing inside a residence on Belmont Avenue. A 41-year-old man was stabbed once in the left shoulder around 11:47 p.m. and was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center by Medic 34. He is in stable condition. Authorities have identified a person of interest in the case, but no weapons have been recovered. Southwest Detectives are handling the investigation.
A fatal shooting occurred in the 25th District late Tuesday night. Officers responded to a report of a person with a gun at 7XX W. Lycoming Street at 11:36 p.m. A 24-year-old man was found on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic 4 at 11:39 p.m. No arrests have been made, and police have yet to determine a motive.
Investigations into all three incidents are ongoing.
