BALTIMORE, MD — A Baltimore man’s dream led him to a $50,000 Powerball win in the September 7 drawing, thanks to an unusual dream featuring a famous actor urging him to buy a ticket.
Though he rarely plays Powerball, the winner decided to purchase an $8 quick-pick ticket at White Marsh Plaza Liquors on Honeygo Boulevard after recalling his dream. Without specific numbers from the dream, he let the terminal pick his numbers.
After seeing the winning numbers the following day, he delayed checking his ticket, which was safely stored at home. When he eventually scanned it using the Maryland Lottery app, he was surprised by the $50,000 win and confirmed it at a local retailer.
The lucky winner, who works in the entertainment industry, plans to use the prize to help buy a house in 2025. Aside from his wife and sister, the couple is keeping their good fortune a secret.
