PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating several shootings in the 14th and 25th districts over the past two days, leaving one person dead and multiple others injured.
In the 25th District, a man was shot in the head early Monday morning at the intersection of North 13th Street and West Lycoming Street. The shooting occurred at 8:09 a.m., according to police. The 38-year-old victim was taken to Temple University Hospital by private vehicle and is currently in stable condition. Investigators have not recovered any weapons or made any arrests.
On Sunday night, a fatal shooting occurred in the 14th District at 5900 Stenton Avenue. A Black male in his mid-20s, currently identified as “John Doe,” was shot in the chest at 11:38 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic 33 eight minutes later. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
Earlier that evening, at 10:24 p.m., a 19-year-old male was shot in the thigh on the 1300 block of E Price Street, also in the 14th District. The victim was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center by private vehicle and is in stable condition. Police have not recovered any weapons or made arrests in connection to the incident.
A double shooting also occurred in the 25th District at 30XX Germantown Avenue at 10:10 p.m. on Sunday. A 20-year-old male was shot in the neck and foot, and a 20-year-old female was shot in the back of the head. Both were transported to Temple University Hospital, where they remain in critical but stable condition. No arrests have been made in this case either.
The Philadelphia Police Department is urging anyone with information about these incidents to contact investigators. Anonymous tips can be submitted through the department’s tip line.
