The New York State Police recently conducted an enforcement initiative in an active work zone on I-81 in Kirkwood, resulting in multiple traffic citations.
A notable incident involved an individual stopped for traveling at 82 mph in a clearly marked 55 mph work zone. In total, 44 tickets were issued during the operation, named Operation Hard Hat, which took place while a Department of Transportation crew was performing bridge work.
