UTICA, NY – Utica Police responded to a sexual assault complaint in the 200 block of Lansing St on Wednesday at approximately 2:00 PM. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a victim who reported an unknown individual followed her to the rear of a residence and attempted to forcibly engage her in sexual activity.
The victim stated that during the encounter, the male forcibly touched her. However, she managed to flee before any further acts occurred. Officers began checking the area and noticed a male hiding in an adjacent yard.
The male, identified as 38-year-old Antonio Pugh, a registered level 3 sex offender, was detained based on the circumstances. He was positively identified as the perpetrator.
Pugh was transported to the Utica Police Department and charged with Sexual Abuse in the first degree.
