ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — An informational meeting held Monday for Atlantic City’s upcoming shipping container park project drew potential tenants eager to join the Orange Loop development. The project, located at 1400 Pacific Ave., is expected to transform the area into a vibrant retail and entertainment hub using repurposed shipping containers.
Entrepreneurs from various industries attended the meeting, which featured representatives from organizations including the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), Stockton University, and the Small Business Administration. These groups provided details on financial assistance programs designed to support new and established businesses looking to participate in the project.
The meeting included a property tour and a presentation of floor plans, rent details, and renderings of the future container park. Organizers distributed applications for Letters of Intent (LOI) to interested parties, noting the limited availability of 22 spaces. “The meeting was highly organized and provided invaluable insights into the tools available to help businesses succeed,” said Sharonda Harris-Bunton, founder of Vegans Are Us, a prospective tenant.
The project, funded by a $2.5 million grant from New Jersey’s Activation, Revitalization, and Transformation Program, will feature an entertainment venue, a local vendor market, and a gourmet marketplace. Developer Mark Callazzo highlighted the potential economic impact, stating, “This container park project underscores my partners’ and my continued commitment to the economic resurgence of the resort.”
As development progresses, the container park aims to attract new businesses and visitors, fostering community growth in Atlantic City.
