Freehold, NJ – A man from Marlboro Township has been convicted of sexual and physical abuse against his daughter over a period exceeding six years, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced Wednesday.
Following a trial before Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Christie Bevacqua, Andrey V. Penkin, 51, was found guilty of two counts of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, one count of second-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, and two counts of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
The investigation, led by the MCPO Special Victims Bureau and Marlboro Township Police Department, revealed that the abuse began in 2016 when the family lived in Sayreville. The abuse continued through subsequent residences in East Brunswick and Marlboro. In early 2023, Penkin physically assaulted his daughter after finding her with a pack of cigarettes, causing severe injuries.
Penkin was arrested in April. During the trial, the State presented medical records, witness testimony, and physical evidence, including the victim’s diary, persuading the jury to deliver guilty verdicts after 80 minutes of deliberation.
