NEW YORK — An off-duty EMT with the New York City Fire Department was arrested late Monday night in Washington Heights, police said. The arrest took place at 10:58 p.m. within the 33rd Precinct.
The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Damiya Coram, faces multiple charges, including second-degree assault, acting in a manner injurious to a child, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Authorities have not released specific details regarding the incident that led to Coram’s arrest. The 33rd Precinct, where the arrest occurred, serves the Washington Heights neighborhood of Upper Manhattan.
The FDNY has not provided further comment on the case or Coram’s employment status with the department.
