PASADENA, MD – A longtime Lottery enthusiast from Anne Arundel County has claimed an impressive $38,121.90 prize from a Racetrax Superfecta Box bet, following more than a decade of playing his favorite Maryland Lottery games.
The anonymous winner, who goes by the nickname “Jay-C,” has been a dedicated player for years, often enjoying games like Racetrax and Keno. “I’ve always considered myself lucky,” he said, reflecting on his many past wins. But his recent Racetrax win stands out as the largest prize he’s ever claimed.
On the day of his big win, “Jay-C” followed his usual routine. He stopped by Crossroads Exxon, located at 8101 Ritchie Highway in Pasadena, to get coffee and gas before work. While there, he purchased several Racetrax tickets, taking advantage of a $6 for $5 promotion. The promotional savings added to his luck, but it wasn’t until later in the day that he realized just how lucky he’d been.
After checking his tickets with the Maryland Lottery mobile app, “Jay-C” was shocked to see that his chosen horses—1, 10, 11, and 12—crossed the finish line together in one of his races. Adding the Bonus option to his ticket tripled his prize, leading to the $38,121.90 payout.
“I was in shock at the amount,” he recalled. “I’ve been playing for a long time, so winning this much feels like it was long overdue. It’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
When asked about his plans for the windfall, “Jay-C” said he intends to invest most of the money in an account for his two children. As for his Lottery play, he sees no reason to change his winning strategy, adding, “I enjoy it, and you’ve got to play to win.”
Crossroads Exxon will also benefit from the win, receiving a $381.21 bonus for selling a winning Racetrax ticket worth $10,000 or more.
