WASHINGTON, D.C. – A man has been arrested in connection with two burglaries and three unlawful entry offenses, following a Metropolitan Police Department investigation.
The first incident occurred on April 27, 2024, when a suspect entered a residence in the 3900 block of 1st Street, Southwest, stole property, including car keys, and fled in the victim’s vehicle. The second burglary took place on May 18, 2024, in the 900 block of Blackney Lane, Southeast, where the suspect fled after taking items from the residence.
In addition, the suspect was involved in three unlawful entry attempts at the same 1st Street residence on May 18, May 20, and May 22. In each instance, the suspect entered or attempted to enter the home but fled without taking any property.
On August 31, 2024, 33-year-old Zamar Jovan Sharpe of Southeast D.C. was arrested and charged with Theft One (Stolen Auto), two counts of Burglary One, and three counts of Unlawful Entry.
