BALTIMORE, MD – A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the August shooting of an 18-year-old in the Eastern District, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
Investigators say the victim had arranged to meet Shakur Eldridge on August 11, 2024, in the 1800 block of North Caroline Street to purchase a vehicle Eldridge had advertised on social media. During their brief interaction, Eldridge allegedly pulled a gun, demanded the victim’s belongings, and shot him in the foot.
The victim was able to make it to a hospital, where police were notified of the walk-in shooting victim. The wound was determined to be non-life-threatening.
On August 27, detectives identified Eldridge as the shooter and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Eldridge was taken into custody without incident on August 30 and charged with attempted first-degree murder.
The case remains under investigation.
