JACKSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A driver was killed and a passenger seriously injured in a crash involving an SUV and a commercial dump truck on Cassville Road (County Route 571) on Wednesday, police confirmed.
Officers responded to the scene shortly after 12:05 p.m., according to Jackson Township Police Chief Matthew Kunz. The SUV’s passenger was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment of serious injuries.
The crash led to the closure of Cassville Road between Leesville and Freehold roads, with police urging drivers to avoid the area while investigators examined the scene.
The identity of the driver has not yet been released.
