MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – A 30-year-old Toms River man, Cody Diaz, has been arrested following a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred in the Pine Lake Park section of Manchester Township on September 3, 2024. Authorities reported that approximately a dozen incidents were reported, and video surveillance footage captured the suspect in the act, which was later shared with the public.
On the morning of September 4, at around 6:30 a.m., a vigilant resident in Pine Lake Park noticed a suspicious individual matching the suspect’s description and alerted police. Responding officers identified the man as Cody Diaz. Diaz was found in possession of a stolen bicycle and items linked to the burglaries from the previous day.
Diaz has been charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft, and receiving stolen property. He is currently being held at Ocean County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.
Police are encouraging the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Residents are also reminded to lock their vehicles to prevent further incidents.
