MERRIMACK, N.H. — A Merrimack man has confessed to killing his mother in a violent incident that unfolded late Tuesday night, according to local authorities. The confession came as state troopers arrived at the scene, with the suspect, identified as David Watkins, shouting, “I know who you are and I know what you want. She is dead, my mom is dead, I killed her.”
The incident began when Watkins and his stepbrother became embroiled in a physical altercation after Watkins reportedly began assaulting their mother on a couch, according to the criminal complaint. As the situation escalated, the stepbrother and the victim managed to barricade themselves in a bathroom.
However, the stepbrother soon escaped through a window to seek help, leaving his mother behind. Upon his return, he discovered that his mother had been killed.
