NEWARK, N.J. — Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé is asking for the public’s assistance in locating two women wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting that occurred on August 18, 2024. The incident took place at approximately 12:14 a.m. near the intersection of West Kinney Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard.
The victim had parked his car in the 100 block of West Kinney Street and was walking toward Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard when he passed three males and heard several gunshots. One of the bullets struck the victim in the leg.
Police are seeking to question Amber Lewis, 33, and Quaderrah Starks, 32, regarding the incident. Lewis is described as a Black female, 5’6” tall, weighing 142 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Starks, also a Black female, is 5’7”, weighs 127 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes.
Authorities are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Amber Lewis or Quaderrah Starks to contact the Newark Department of Public Safety.
