HANOVER, Md. — A multi-vehicle collision on Route 100 at Arundel Mills Boulevard led to the temporary closure of the westbound lanes early Thursday morning, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department. The crash, which occurred near a busy intersection close to the Arundel Mills shopping area, prompted authorities to divert traffic onto Telegraph Road as they conducted their investigation.
The incident, reported just before dawn, resulted in significant disruptions to the morning commute. Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene to assess the situation and assist those involved in the crash. Details regarding the number of vehicles and any potential injuries were not immediately available.
Westbound Route 100 remained closed for several hours as police carried out their investigation. Commuters were advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes during the closure. The road has since been reopened, as confirmed by an update from the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
“The road is now open,” the department announced in a social media post at 7:18 a.m. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by local authorities.
