CUMBERLAND, Md. — A man was arrested in Cumberland on Wednesday following an alleged assault involving a paint can. The incident took place on the 500 block of Marshall Street.
The Cumberland Police Department responded to reports of a disturbance at the location. Upon arrival, officers encountered the victim, who reported being threatened by a man wielding a paint can. Witnesses at the scene corroborated the victim’s account, stating that the suspect was yelling and chasing the victim in the street.
The suspect, identified as Christopher Emerson, 35, was taken into custody. Emerson has been charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace.
Emerson was transported to Central Booking, where he is currently awaiting a bond hearing, according to the Cumberland Police Department.
