SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. — A year-long investigation led by the Suffolk County Police Department, in coordination with multiple local and federal agencies, has culminated in the arrests of 29 individuals and the dismantling of five major narcotics networks operating from Brooklyn to Montauk.
The investigation, announced Wednesday by Suffolk County Deputy Commissioners Kevin Catalina and Belinda Groneman alongside Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney, uncovered significant quantities of illegal drugs and other assets. Law enforcement seized 5 kilograms of cocaine, 3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 809 grams of fentanyl, 759 grams of xylazine, 301 grams of a heroin-xylazine mix, 2,313 fentanyl tablets, and 280 grams of MDMA. The operation also resulted in the confiscation of seven firearms, 16 vehicles, $170,000 in cash, $100,000 in gold coins, and $287,000 in bank account assets.
According to authorities, the coordinated effort involved multiple local and federal law enforcement agencies and spanned numerous jurisdictions. The operation targeted key figures within the narcotics networks, leading to the significant drug and asset seizures.
“This investigation reflects our unwavering commitment to dismantling dangerous drug networks that threaten the safety of our communities,” said Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney in a statement.
The operation’s success marks a major victory in the ongoing battle against narcotics trafficking in the region. Officials stated that the investigation is part of broader efforts to curb drug-related crime and will continue to pursue those involved in narcotics distribution across Suffolk County.
