STAFFORD, Va. — A woman was arrested for driving under the influence after a traffic stop outside a Wawa on Richmond Highway, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy C.S. Harding responded to a report of a suspected drunk driver in a Nissan near the Wawa located at 3099 Richmond Highway at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
The caller reported that the vehicle was swerving on the road.
Deputy Harding located the vehicle and made contact with the driver, who displayed clear signs of intoxication. Inside the vehicle, authorities discovered numerous empty alcohol bottles from various brands, according to the sheriff’s office.
The driver was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. She was taken to Rappahannock Regional Jail, where she was held until she sobered up, officials said.
