NYACK, N.Y. — Three women were injured in a shooting early Saturday morning outside CY’s Restaurant and Lounge on Route 59, the Clarkstown Police Department reported. Officers responded to the scene at approximately 3:05 a.m. after receiving reports of gunshots.
Upon arrival, police found an adult female lying on the ground in front of the establishment with gunshot wounds to her leg and abdomen. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and officers provided immediate medical aid before transporting her to Montefiore Nyack Hospital.
Further investigation revealed that two other adult females, also injured in the shooting, had driven themselves to Montefiore Nyack Hospital. Both women sustained gunshot wounds to their legs. According to authorities, none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect is a dark-skinned male with dreadlocks, wearing a black mask. While the motive for the shooting is still under investigation, police stated that the incident does not appear to be random, and there is no immediate danger to the public.
“We would like to thank our law enforcement partners who assisted us at the scene, especially the Orangetown Police Department and the New York State Police,” the Clarkstown Police Department said in a statement.
