NEW YORK, N.Y. — An off-duty New York City Police Department detective was arrested late Friday night in Manhattan on charges of driving while intoxicated. The incident occurred within the confines of the 1st Precinct.
The detective, identified as 30-year-old Christina McKeever, was taken into custody at approximately 11:35 p.m. after reportedly refusing to take a breath test. McKeever, a white female, has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol, according to police sources.
McKeever has served as a Detective Specialist at Patrol Borough Bronx since January 2024, following previous assignments in the Patrol Services Bureau Resource Management Section and the 67th and 60th Precincts. She began her service with the NYPD in October 2015 and earned $144,000 last year, according to department records.
The NYPD confirmed that McKeever has no prior disciplinary incidents on her record.
