PHILADELPHIA — A 25-year-old man was fatally shot on a highway in North Philadelphia Thursday afternoon, police said. The shooting occurred in the 35th District near 55XX North 6th Street at approximately 3:34 p.m.
The victim, a Black male whose identity has not been released, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and right hand. He was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center by a private vehicle, where he was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m., according to authorities.
Police are holding the scene, but no arrests have been made, and no weapons have been recovered, officials said. The investigation is ongoing.
