BEL AIR, MD — A routine Sunday afternoon of running errands led to a life-changing moment for a Maryland Lottery player who recently won $50,000 on a scratch-off ticket.
The winner, known by his childhood nickname “Snookie,” purchased the winning Lots of Cash scratch-off ticket on August 18 while at the Royal Farms store located at 2692 Tobin Crossing in Bel Air. Snookie decided to scratch the ticket while still in the store and was surprised to see a message instructing him to “See Lottery.” Unsure of what it meant, he asked the store clerk to scan the ticket and was overjoyed to learn he had won the game’s top prize of $50,000.
Overwhelmed with happiness, Snookie shared that the timing of the win was perfect, as he had recently lost his grandfather. He plans to use the prize money to pay bills and fulfill a dream of purchasing a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The Royal Farms store that sold the winning ticket will also benefit, receiving a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery. The Lots of Cash game, which debuted in mid-June, still has five $50,000 top prizes and numerous other prizes available.
