HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Hamilton Township resulted in the death of the driver after a Tesla SUV veered off the road and caught fire. The incident occurred at approximately 1:35 a.m. on Mays Landing Somers Point Road near Ocean Heights Avenue.
According to the Township of Hamilton Police Department, a 2024 Tesla Model Y left the roadway and collided with multiple trees before catching fire. Emergency responders, including the Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad, AtlantiCare Paramedics, and local fire departments from Mays Landing and Laureldale, were dispatched to the scene.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identification of the victim is pending further investigation by the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
