UTICA, N.Y. — A Utica man was arrested Monday night after allegedly assaulting his father with a skateboard during a domestic dispute.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:50 p.m. on August 19 at a residence in the 600 block of Bleecker Street.
According to the Utica Police Department, officers responded to a report of a domestic assault and spoke with the victim upon arrival. The victim stated that he had engaged in a verbal argument with his son, Kyle Washeleski, 30, which escalated when Washeleski grabbed a skateboard and struck him across the face.
The assault resulted in a laceration and significant swelling to the victim’s face.
Washeleski was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Utica Police Department. Following the investigation, he was charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.
