STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford Police Major Crime and Narcotic Detectives, with support from the Southwest Regional Emergency Response Team, executed a high-risk warrant on Fairfield Avenue in the westside of Stamford on Wednesday morning. The operation resulted in the arrest of a 16-year-old male suspect in connection with a recent assault involving a firearm.
The suspect, whose name has not been released due to his age, was involved in a violent incident on Friday, August 9th. During the altercation, the juvenile allegedly exchanged words with a female juvenile, held a firearm to her head, and punched her, causing injuries.
Following the incident, the suspect was charged with Threatening 1st degree, Assault 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit.
On August 14th, as a result of the apprehension and a search warrant executed during the raid, additional charges were filed against the juvenile. These include Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a High Capacity Magazine, Failure to Register a Firearm, Negligent Storage of a Firearm, Illegal Transfer of a Firearm, and Possession of Narcotics. The suspect has been transferred to juvenile detention in Bridgeport.
Captain Thomas Scanlon praised the investigative team for their swift action in securing the arrest and preventing further harm.
