ABSECON, N.J. — The Absecon Police Department is investigating a string of motor vehicle burglaries that took place in the early hours of Friday, August 16. The incidents occurred between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., with several neighborhoods reporting suspicious activity and attempted burglaries.
The affected areas include Absecon Estates, covering streets such as Highland Boulevard, Marlborough Avenue, Chelsea Road, Blenheim Avenue, and Ambassador Drive. Additionally, burglaries were reported near Heritage Park, as well as on Woodland Avenue and Upland Avenue.
According to the Absecon Police Department, the preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect or suspects targeted unlocked vehicles. Authorities are urging any residents who believe they may have been victims to contact the Absecon Police Department at 609-641-0667.
The department is also asking residents in these neighborhoods to review any surveillance footage that may have captured suspicious activity during the time of the incidents. Residents with security cameras are encouraged to participate in the Community Camera Registration Program, which allows the police to reach out for assistance in future investigations.
