LORAIN, OH— Mary Caudill of Lorain is celebrating a major win after claiming the top prize on the Ohio Lottery’s Maximum Millions scratch-off game. Mary secured the annuity prize of $80,000 per year for 25 years, totaling $2 million, but opted for the $1 million cash option. After mandatory state and federal tax withholdings of 28 percent, she will take home $720,000.
The winning ticket was purchased at Pearl Ave Exxon, located at 5411 Pearl Ave in Lorain.
Mary plans to use her winnings to buy a new house and cars for her children.
Maximum Millions is a $20 scratch-off game with a top prize of $2 million. As of August 15, two top prizes remain available in the game.
Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed over $32 billion to support education across Ohio.
