BALTIMORE, MD— Baltimore Police have arrested 28-year-old Paul Artis in connection with the fatal shooting of 38-year-old Ondrell Mayo in the Southern District. The homicide occurred on August 1st in the 900 block of East Patapsco Avenue.
Following an investigation, detectives identified Artis as the suspect in the shooting. On August 6th, Artis was apprehended at Baltimore Police headquarters, which is located at 601 East Fayette Street. He has since been charged with first-degree murder and was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility.
The incident initially unfolded in the early hours of August 1, when officers responded to the sound of gunfire in the 900 block of East Patapsco Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered Mayo suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of medics, Mayo was pronounced dead at the scene.
