ATLANTIC CITY, NJ—A suspect has been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred on the evening of August 13. Atlantic City Police responded to a report of a stabbing at 9:54 PM in the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue, where they discovered that both the victim and suspect had initially fled the scene.
The victim, a 27-year-old male from Bridgeton, NJ, was later found by Officers Irwin Sanchez and Josue Rodriguez in the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue, suffering from multiple stab wounds and bleeding heavily.
He was quickly transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Following a swift investigation and broadcast of the suspect’s description, Officers Dylan Imbrenda and Melvin Murray III apprehended Rashaun Williams-Brooks in the vicinity of Arctic Avenue. Williams-Brooks, 39, of Atlantic City, was found with a bloodied folding knife and was positively identified as the assailant.
The altercation between the victim and Williams-Brooks reportedly escalated to physical violence before the stabbing.
Williams-Brooks faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and being a certain person not to possess a weapon.
